Wildlife & Safety
The parks are home to grizzly and black bears, moose, elk and bison, and seeing them is a highlight of any trip. Please keep a safe distance: the National Park Service asks for at least 100 yards from bears and wolves and 25 yards from everything else. Always carry bear spray on any hike. It cannot be flown, so plan to rent one in town. A park entrance pass is required for both Grand Teton and Yellowstone.
